Vegetable juicing has gained a great deal in popularity in recent years. Many people find that they can get all the vital nutrients and enzymes from fresh vegetable juice in more palatable combinations and with greater ease than trying to prepare the whole vegetables. However, not all juicers are created equal. This fact can make shopping for the best juicers for vegetables more complicated. Here, we will look at a few examples of juicers and their performance.

The first juicer we will look at is the Hamilton Beach 67650 Big Mouth Pro Juice Extractor. This juicer is of the centrifugal type, meaning that it using a spinning blade to separate the juice from the pulp. It has received mixed reviews from users.

Most people find this to be a very good machine. It is very fast and efficient with hard vegetables and leafy greens. Assembly is easy and cleanup takes only 5 minutes if done by hand. Working parts are dishwasher safe.

Those who dislike this juicer and those who love it had the same complaint. When dealing with soft fruits, such as melons, a good deal of juice ended up mixing with the pulp. This problem was eliminated when juicing hard products like carrots or broccoli stems.

Most who bought this machine agree that it is a wonderful device for the price, approximately 70 US dollars.

The next vegetable juicer to look at is the Omega 8005. This device uses a masticating single auger to squeeze the maximum amount of juice out of virtually any fruit or vegetable one wishes to juice. It comes with a 10 year warranty. Owners of previous models have had their juicers as high as 20 years without a single problem.

This machine turns much more slowly than a centrifugal juicer. What this means is that less heat is transferred to the juice. Heat kills many of the enzymes that make vegetable juice such a healthy alternative. Therefore, the Omega 8005 produces higher quality juice than most centrifugal machines with less froth and more nutrients intact.

This juicer may seem a bit pricey at approximately 460 US dollars. However, the quality of construction and range of functions one can achieve with it make it a very valuable addition to any kitchen. Different attachments make it possible to handle soft and hard fruits, make nut butters, mince onion and garlic or other spices, use as a grinder, or a pasta maker.

The Green Power KP-E 104 Twin Gear Juicer is an example of the next level one should consider when shopping for the best juicers for vegetables. The twin gear system makes it possible to juice a wider range of materials from soft fruits and berries to wheat grass. In addition, special bio ceramic and magnetic features ionize juices so that they stay fresh longer, up to 72 hours in most cases.

With the addition of the multi-purpose kit, this machine becomes a very versatile tool for use in any kitchen. It features a 10 year warranty and built in safety features prevent damage to the device if a substance that is too hard to pass through the gears is encountered.

People have been squeezing the juice from citrus fruits for centuries. Even grapes have been smashed to produce juices, sometimes later turned into wines. However, in recent years, people have discovered that many other fruits lend themselves well to juicing, though many require more power to efficiently extract the juice. This led to the creation of the specialized electric and manual fruit juicer that uses different techniques for separating the fruit’s juice from the pulp.

Here, we will look more closely at some of the best fruit juicer products available

The Green Star S3000 is a twin gear fruit juicer capable of handling virtually any fruit or vegetable one wishes to place in it. It weighs approximately 10.5 KG or 25 pounds and costs approximately 400 US dollars. However, for the money, one gets an excellent machine that comes with a five year warranty on parts and a two warranty on the motor.

The Green Star is a relatively slow operating machine, having an operating RPM of only 110. However, with its twin gear design, this fruit juicer is able to extract a large amount of juice and separate it from the pulp in a short time at this speed. It is capable of juicing even the toughest of vegetables, wheat grass, so it has little trouble at all with fruits.

The juice yield is quite high using this machine. When tested, it was able to 650 grams from pure juice from 1 kilogram of apples. The juice contains no pulp whatsoever. In addition, this fruit juicer produces very little, if any, froth because it operates at such a low speed. It includes a self ejection of pulp so that one can run it continuously if so desired.

The Champion 2000+ is another good fruit juicer for extracting the desired liquid out of delicious fresh fruit. This one costs quite a bit less than the Green Star, coming at around 240 US dollars. However, this machine is lighter in weight and comes with a full 10 year warranty.

The champion is not designed for dealing with hard vegetables and grasses. It uses a masticating jaw to mash the fruits and separate the juice from the pulp. However, this machine operates at a bit faster rate, running approximately 1425 RPM. It still keeps the froth down to a minimum because this is a relatively slow speed compared to other juicers on the market. The average yield of juice per kilogram of apples was 620 grams and the pulp content was extremely low.

The L’equip Mini Pulp Ejector is a centrifugal juice extractor that is designed for working primarily with fruits and limited vegetables. It operates at a speed of 10,000 RPM, so one will see a bit of froth with the juice. However, this unit is light weight and economical. The approximate price is only 100 US dollars.

This unit yielded 650 grams of juice from 1 kilogram of apples, though there was slightly more pulp in the juice than with other units. As with the other units, this one ejects the pulp automatically so that it can be run continuously. Unlike the other two mentioned, this fruit juicer has dishwasher safe parts to make cleanup easier.

For those who are serious about improving their diet and the quality of their life, a fruit juicer is a necessary piece of kitchen equipment. There are several different models on the market at a wide range of prices.

For straight fruit juicing, a centrifugal fruit juicer is usually more than adequate.

Here, we will look at four different centrifugal juicers and compare their features:

The first juicer under review is the Jack Lalanne Power Juicer classic. Almost everyone has heard of Jack Lalanne. He is the 91 year old “Godfather of Health and Fitness”. He markets his juicers via the internet and infomercials on television. Let’s see how the classic model measures up to its claims.

This is one of the quietest centrifugal juicers available. With some, it is necessary to wear earplugs while operating, but this one is very quiet. It is claimed that the Power Juicer is able to extract thirty percent more juice than other centrifugal juicers.

This claim is difficult to prove or disprove due to the number of variables involved, such as the type of fruit or vegetable being juiced and quantity being loaded into the machine.

Two drawbacks to this model include the fact that it drips after the juicing process is completed and the glass is removed. This can lead to staining of the countertop where the machine is used. The white plastic parts are also prone to staining, especially when dark fruits and vegetables, such as carrots are put through it.

Another model, the Power Juicer Deluxe, has all of the benefits of the classic juicer version without the cons. Being made of stainless steel, this model is not prone to staining. In addition, this model has added a no drip feature that protects the counters.

If one is looking for a larger, more powerful juicer, The Breville Juice Fountain Elite is a good choice. To be honest, though both are centrifugal juicers, this one is in a completely different class than the Jack Lalanne.

The Breville features a thousand watt motor made in Italy that is capable of cranking out 13000 rpm. This high speed is excellent for juicing hard fruits and vegetables such as carrots or pineapples with the skin on. For softer fruits and vegetables, there is a switch that allows one to run at half speed to extract the most juice.

There is a small difference in the locking bar that holds the plastic lid down that can cause some scratching if care is not exercised. In addition, running at high speed can cause some spraying that leads to a messy workspace and wastes some of the juice.

The Acme 6001 juicer is another centrifugal juicer that has some good features. It only runs at one speed, however. The price places this model somewhere between the Lalanne juicers and the Breville.

In truth, this model is probably slightly overpriced for the work it does. However, it does extract virtually all the juice from whatever produce is put through it, so it is still a healthy choice when one considers a fruit juicer as a means to improving health.

The Jack LaLanne Juicer line offers something for just about everyone. Jack LaLanne has been a name in fitness for decades and his juicer line is one of his lasting contributions. This line was established with a single juicer that continues on today.

The entire line consists of only five different juicer designs, but each one offers something rather singular in addition to those central elements that comprise the line. Choosing between the five different designs is usually easy. This is because they are designed to fill a specific role and are optimized to provide a specific benefit.

The Jack LaLanne juicer line is known for more than only the quality products that are provided though. There is a culture and a community that is attached to the line. These aspects of the total package continue to appeal to a number of individuals. Among the unique offerings of this product line are the recipe books that allow you to create juice combinations from the day you open the box, and shape a complete healthy diet at each meal. In addition there is membership to the Juice Club included with the purchase of some products.

Power Juicer Classic

This is the central product. This is the original in the Jack LaLanne juicer line. This juicer comes with a number of elements that you will see in many of the other products. There is a surgical-quality stainless steel blade, it is powered by a 3,600 RPM motor with a lifetime warranty, and it has dishwasher safe parts. The product boasts whisper quiet operation and an extra-large feeder chute to make use that much easier.

The basic elements also include the Jack LaLanne special patented extraction technology and a detachable pulp collector to make your juice that much juicier and your pulp that much easier to use or dispose of. All of these elements are included in the Power Juicer Classic, and most of these are present in the four other products in the line.

Power Juicer Deluxe

In the Power Juicer Deluxe you again get all of those elements that were standard in the Power Juicer Classic. With the Deluxe all of that is packaged in a sleek stainless steel finish. You probably will not mind having this piece displayed constantly on the counter.

Power Juicer Elite

Size wise this is the most that that the Jack LaLanne juicer line offers. Regarding features though you may find another model that matches what you want better. The Elite is 16.5 inches by 13 inches by 16 inches. This model includes the features that the Power Juicer Classic has, but with the addition of a non-drip spout.

Power Juicer Express

This model of the Power Juicer offers all the elements that you found in the Power Juicer Classic. In addition is adds to those elements a non-drip spout, for clean and easy dispensing. This is essential to the model’s theme. This is a model that is designed to be compact. You can tuck it away when it is not in use. You might even pack it in your travel bag.

Power Juicer Pro

All the features of the Classic are packaged in a stainless steel package as in the Deluxe. In the Pro though, you also get a stainless-steel mesh filter. This is the unit that reportedly always includes membership in the Juice Club with purchase.

With a citrus juicer you have two, often practical, options. The first is the manual juicing and the second is power juicing. Each has benefits and drawbacks. With a power juicer you can juice as many fruits as you want without the energy expenditure that would be required for manual juicing.

With manual juicing you save energy and can conveniently work the same fruit with slightly different approaches until you are satisfied that you have gotten all the juice out of the fruit.

Both varieties may or may not accommodate all types of citrus fruit effectively. That is an important consideration when you are attempting to choose which citrus juicer is best for you. In general consider what sort of fruit you want to juice, how much of the fruit you want to juice at one time, and how often you want to juice fruit. These alone will often help you to determine which of the citrus juicer models you are considering is the best for you.

Here are some models that will give you an idea of the options that may be available to you.

CitriStar Juicer – Citrus Juicer

This represents your standard in basic powered juicers. It takes the classic wedge shape and puts it on a motor. The result is a wedge juicer that rotates while you press the fruit down on the wedge. You will likely either consider this design to be very helpful or not really worth it. This particular model claims that their wedge fits all citrus varieties, which may be a plus. There is a one-year warranty. The unit was priced between forty-five and sixty dollars at the time this was written.

Manual Citrus Juicer

This is the manual counterpart to the above model. This is the classic juicer that you press citrus fruit onto a wedge, you move the fruit, and you make juice. It is rather simple to use. Clean-up and storage generally prove to be very convenient as well. If you want a glass of fresh juice once or twice a week you may want to give this sort of product some real consideration. This particular model was priced under twenty dollars.

KitchenAid JE Citrus Juicer Stand Mixer Attachment

This is an interesting option available to individuals with specific brands of mixers, juicer, and processors. This is an attachment that works with your existing power kitchen appliance allowing the unit to juice citrus fruit. The result is something to the Citristar, generally with a lower price tag and the power of your existing kitchen appliance. If you like the power wedge idea and have a compatible appliance you may want to consider this.

Breville Die-Cast Citrus Press 800CPXL

It is manual, but it is designed for ease of use and aesthetic appeal. This is a die cast zinc and stainless steel manual citrus press. The resulting product is a shiny metallic sculpture that allows you to use the wonders of physics to lower an arm and squeeze the juice from your fruit with little effort.

There is possibly a bit of confusion regarding what is a juicer extractor and what is a juicer and what is this other thing that I am told can do these other things. While there is not necessarily a strict adherence to this principle, it is a general rule that will likely help you to identify better what you are looking for based on what you want to do.

In some fruits that is an obviously high amount of liquid (juice). These are typically the citrus fruits. By simply squeezing these fruits you can usually get a large amount of juice out of them. Other produce poses far more of a challenge. While grapes and even some vegetables have high liquid, or juice, content their structure makes it more difficult to simply squeeze them and get it out.

For these fruits you will likely need a machine that can do a bit more. Enter the juicer extractor. It is not quite a food processor, because it does not have the optional functions that allow for large bits of food to be left intact. It is a machine that is dedicated to getting juice out of produce. The result is a pitcher full of juice and strainer full of pulp. Keep in mind that the RPM’s that the product operates at may impact the nutrition that actually makes it into your glass. (This is based on information that high heats can oxidize enzymes and damage other nutritional elements.)

Juicer – Miracle Pro Juice Extractor

This is actually a commercial juicer extractor. The Miracle Pro is capable of producing one quart of juice in one minute. It is specifically designed to meet the demands of commercial settings, such as cafeterias and restaurants.

You may or may not want a commercial unit in your home. Some people like having that commercial quality others do not find it worth the price and product size that are sometimes part of the commercial product.

Juice Extractor (SHL208)

This is a counter-top unit that really does just about everything. The components listed included a chopping / mixing blade and a slicing disc. In addition the feed tube (where you insert the produce) is listed as being full-sized. You may still need to slice some of your larger produce but many of your small produce pieces may fit in whole. This unit was listed as weighing approximately 15 kilograms. It is a good example of a rather standard juicer extractor and may be suitable for your needs.

Juice Extractor by Goal

This unit is another example of a typical extractor. It comes complete with a large pulp / residue trough, and it is equipped with a 65 mm feeder mouth. It is designed to extract juice from nearly any produce variety.

Green Star GS-1000 Juice Extractor

This is rated by some as being among the best of the extractors available. It is designed slightly different. Instead of being tall this unit is comparatively long and low to the counter-top. It comes with a five year limited warranty. It is able to juice most varieties of produce including carrots. It operates at one-hundred and ten RPM’s, and weighs approximately twenty-five pounds. This product was priced at over four-hundred dollars.

There are a number of words and labels that are being tossed around in the juice machine market such as juice extractor. There are juicer, juice extractor, super juicer and others. There are some distinctions though.

Not all manufacturers use these criteria in their labeling, but they are general concepts based on performances. For more details regarding the capabilities of a particular unit you should consult the specifications that accompanied that particular unit.

Some motors or blades may not be suitable for the items that you want to process. In some cases individuals also note that some units over-process specific soft foods such as berries.

A juice extractor is typically capable of getting juice out of hard root produce. It will likely handle soft vegetables and fruits as well, but the significant point is that in general they are capable of handling the harder roots such as potatoes.

This is not true of all juicer products. Some machines designed to handle delicate wheat grass are also referred to as juice extractors, as a result the label may not be as helpful as you think. It could also prove to be a good starting point. Below are some looks at some of the many fruit extractors that are available.

Waring PJE401 Juice Extractor, Quite White and Stainless Steel

This is a more or less typical example of what a fruit extractor is. It converts all non-citrus fruits and vegetables into juice. This particular model disassembles for easy cleaning and has dishwasher safe components. It is powered by a 550 watt motor.

4-in-1 Super Juice Extractor in Shock-proof Design by Foshan Geuwa Electric Appliance Co. Ltd

This extractor offers all that is stated above, but with a 300 watt motor. In addition to produce the unit can be used for meat mincing and dry food milling. It offers pulse rotation and two-speed function settings. The design of this unit may prove a bit cumbersome for many home kitchen settings.

Waring JEX450 FACTORY REFURSBISHED juice extractor

This is a quality brand, and this particular product proves that with the more commercial quality products second-hand is an option. This refurbished unit comes complete with a ninety-day warranty. It is delivered in a sealed box. It was priced under eighty dollars. It is powered by an 850 watt motor and has two speed settings.

Breville ® Compact Juice Extractor

This product was priced just under one-hundred dollars and is powered by a seven-hundred watt motor. The motor provides 14,000 RPM’s of juicing action. Some parts are dishwasher safe and the housing can be wiped clean. It is complete with a custom pitcher and other convenience features.

Hamilton Beach 67900 2 Speed Juice Extractor

This is among the most compact units that you may find. It does have two speed operation though. It was priced between thirty and forty dollars. If you do not want to make large amounts of juice at one time this unit with custom pitcher may be something like you are looking for.

A fruit juicer is often a keen addition to the modern kitchen. It adds a new element to the list of possibilities. Whether you want a fresh glass of juice with your breakfast or simply a simply beverage during the day a fruit juicer makes creating your own easy and quick in many cases.

There are a number of differences among the juicers that are available though. Some of the major differences are in what the fruit juicer will actually juice. Be certain that you know what you want and what you are getting when you shop for a juicer. Some juicers may extract juice from most produce, but not offer an easy option for citrus fruit and berries.

Others may provide top-rate juicing action for citrus fruit, but then that may be the only thing that will juice. If you have no intention of juicing some things an option like either of those mentioned may be suitable for you. But if you want to explore all the juice in the world you, you may find that your kitchen merits two machines or a single machine that really can juice it all.

You simply pour water into it, and it cleans itself. It was priced at just under three-hundred and thirty dollars.

For the smaller citrus fruit in your life there is no need to pull out the large box juicer and plug it in. You may not be surprised that a number of people who have multi-feature power juicers still have something like this around. These small hand-held manual citrus juicers offer quick juice, Very practical for juicing a lemon or lime while cooking. If you prefer not to use your hands or your power juicer for half a lime then consider finding an assortment of these. These were priced at twenty dollars each.

With a word like super in the title, products that are labeled super juicer probably bring to mind extraordinary performance. You may even be inclined to envision a design and performance that is comparatively singular in the products that bear that label.

It is true that a number of juicers that do and do not hold the title of super juicer perform a variety of juicing functions that you will likely come to appreciate or at least not find troublesome.

In the way of singularity though, the super juicer models that you find may actually be bewilderingly similar in some cases. You should consider this when shopping. In certain instances what two products that are quite similar with the exception of a name can translate to is big savings.

In some of the products below you will see that that does not always happen though. In cases where you are shopping for a name this may prove to be good news. It means that you can likely get the same features that you found in that other juicer, but with the name that you want, and possibly a similar price.

Bell & Howell Stainless Steel Super Juicer, Model 8021

This is a super juicer with a sleek design. It sports stainless steel construction with black. The juicer provides juicing function for a variety of produce choices. The design includes a wide mouth for easy insertion of the fruit. It also boasts a 700 watt motor. The materials that are used are both easy to rinse and dishwasher safe, which should help at clean-up time. This particular unit was found for $74.44.

The Sharper Image 8021SI Stainless-Steel 700-Watt Super Juicer

This is a super juicer with a sleek design. It sports stainless steel construction with black. This description may sound similar and that’s not a coincidence. From picture identification and specifications, these two super juicer products are the same except the name printed on the lower right hand corner of the juicer.

This is an example of two basically identical products being distributed under two different names. The result can sometimes be saving for the buyer that stumbles upon them. In this case, the savings is not so much.

This unit was found priced at $79.99. That is only $5.55 difference. It might your first serving of fruit juice though. (It should be noted that the pricing stated that it included a forty dollar discount.)

Stainless Steel Super Juicer Model Number:RB-306AA by Guangzhou Sunmile Industries Co. Ltd

This is a super juicer that is a little more dissimilar than the two above. You will still find those common elements though in this juicer that can juice whole apples, carrots, pears and more. The model viewed was a striking white and black combination absent of the typical stainless steel.

If you have a kitchen with a slightly less industrial or commercial atmosphere you may want to consider a juicer with an appearance more similar to this one.
